One of PCG Digital Marketing’s newest content writers is also a proud alumnus of Monmouth University and the Monmouth University Public Relations Student Society (PRSSA). The student-run public relations firm at Monmouth University has grown tremendously and currently publicizes campus events as well as works with real clients in the local community for their public relation needs. Jess Eme is a proud alumni of Monmouth University as well as the PRSSA and was thrilled to have the opportunity to attend a recent Alumni Day with current students.
While in school, Jess was an active member for three years and became an Account Executive of this PRSSA chapter during her senior year. The organization holds an Alumni Day as the last meeting of the semester, where graduates are invited to share their current positions and participate in a Q&A session with students.
It was during Jess’ senior year when PCG’s VPO Christine Rochelle spoke at a PRSSA meeting, which sparked her interested with this premier NJ Internet marketing company.
“I wanted to participate in the Alumni Day to hopefully make a connection with a student like the one I had with Christine,” explained Jess. “We were able to keep in touch and after graduation I was hired to be a writer for PCG Digital Marketing.”
Approximately 30 students attended this semester’s PRSSA Alumni Day, where they had the ability to network with graduates who’ve gone on to acquire successful jobs. One of Jess’ priorities for attending the event was to network with students in order to help them with any questions or concerns they may have.
“Graduating school means applying for jobs and going on interviews, which can be overwhelming and stressful at first. It was great to be on hand to answer questions about email etiquette, class recommendations, showcase the importance of networking and more,” said Jess. The Alumni Days are a fantastic way for students to communicate with recent graduations who were able to get jobs shortly after graduating from Monmouth University.
Jess joined three other Monmouth University PRSSA alumni for the discussion and hopes all attendees went home with a better understanding to tackling the job market.
