With all the social media sites available today, it would be ridiculous to not use them to your advantage to help grow your business. While we all know the obvious sites like Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn, there are a few out there that people don’t realize they can use to help increase profits and traffic. One of these is Pinterest.
While most people use Pinterest for fun things like recipes and crafts, businesses can get creative and find ways to use these pins to attract customers. Even if your company has nothing to do with any of the pins, you can find ways to make them relate, such as making a recipe board with recipes shared from your team.
Make Your Business Stand Out on Pinterest
These four tips from Marketing Land are great ways to make your business stand out on Pinterest.
The first step to using Pinterest to help grow your business is to make sure you are pinning everyday. Pins are constantly being added and updated, and it’s easy for yours to get lost in the sea of quotes and pictures of cute animals. Pinning everyday increases your chances of getting seen and to grow your following. Any Pinterest regular can tell you how easy and fun this is, as pinning new things to your boards can become very addictive.
Make your boards personal. With the millions of pins and boards out there, it’s your chance to show customers who you really are in a fun and creative way. While most of the items on your page will be about your business, create a separate board that shows your favorite food, books and hobbies, and this way they will feel like they really know you on a personal level.
Below, you’ll see PCG’s Pinterest boards. With pins from the industries we serve, social media infographics and photos of the Jersey Shore (our backyard!), we try to show who we are as a company and as individuals.
While you want your pins to be eye-catching and entertaining, don’t forget to make sure they are informative as well. It’s easy to get lost in the art of random pinning, but you want to make sure your pins tell the audience about your business. Make sure your pins and boards are well organized by theme, such as sales and products, and make sure to pin a few to each of them everyday.
As important as it is is pin a lot, you also need to be sure to not bombard people with pins; if they see too many on their newsfeed at once, they will think of it as spam and get annoyed.
Get creative! While most people pin pictures, feel free to pin videos and infographics as well. This will keep the attention of your audience while also keeping them informed. Your goal is to have your pin re-pinned by other people so that your audience keeps growing and growing. It’s also smart to advertise sales and specials that only your Pinterest followers will see, so they feel special and as though they have more of an advantage than other people.
Pinterest’s popularity is growing everyday, and the more social sites you use on behalf of your business, the more people you reach. For some ideas, visit PCG Digital Marketing’s Pinterest page!
